Worship Team Application
Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Worship Team at Life Stream Church. We would love to get to know you more—who you are, what your skills and gifts are, and your heart to worship and serve. We want to invite you to play your part in the body of Christ.
Currently, we have opportunities for instrumentalists, vocalists, and creative art elements.
1 Peter 4:10, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
As an instrumentalist or vocalist, being on the Worship Team enables you to continue to grow in the musical gifts God has given you. Playing, singing, and praying with other musicians pushes you to grow in your skills and also forms community.
Much of our approach to being a member on our team comes from 1 Chronicles chapter 25. King David set the musicians apart for a specific purpose. The musicians were to use their gifts to honor God directly and to encourage one other to worship God. In verse 8, it reads, “young and old alike, teachers as well as students cast their lots for their duties.”
We look to 1 Chronicles 25 to form our teams. We look for people that love the Lord with their whole heart. We also walk alongside those that are new to faith and have a heart to know more about the Christian walk. Our team consists of different generations and different skill levels. We don’t expect people to have professional backgrounds but look for people that are willing to grow in their skill level.
More importantly, we want all our members to be ever growing in their spiritual journey. They must have a teachable spirit, and a humble and submissive heart. We lead the congregation in worship under the guidance of The Holy Spirit.
What does an audition look like?
- Answer and submit questions on the application form.
- Connect with Pastor Jeff Bond and/or Lori Bond in person.
- During the in person meeting we would like to hear from you about your walk with God, what God is teaching you now, and why you want to be on the team. Yes, these questions are on the form but we would like to not only read your story but hear it from you as well.
- You can send us a recording of singing or playing ahead of time. Send to lori@lifestreamweb.org.
- When we meet in person we would have you play or sing with Pastor Jeff and/or Lori Bond. You can pick a song of your choice to play or sing. Please tell us why this song has meaning to you.
What are we looking for when you play or sing for us?
- Skill level
- Tone, pitch, ear training and range
- Harmonization (singing)
- Understanding of the song
